The Objective

  • Enable use for multiple cars
  • Allow for regular updates to software
  • Need to be able to charge faster than home charging units

This business needed to charge their vehicles throughout the day but with limited power available on site. We provided them with a smart and cost-effective solution. In this case study, we delve into the intricate details of how Intercontinental Brands Ltd. approached these challenges and the remarkable solutions they adopted to meet their specific needs.

The Solution

Upon our first survey, we discovered that the existing installation and machinery was already close to the limit of power given by the local grid connection. This would normally mean we are unable to provide the installation of a charge point or points without getting the main incoming supply upgraded by the DNO, which could prove costly.
We were able to find a UK based manufacturer called MyEnergi to provide us with a solution.

We linked all charge points together using a wireless mesh device called the Harvi. This device constantly monitored the overall use of power to the building. This means when cars were charging and the building was getting towards the limit of power, the Harvi temporarily ‘derated’ the charge points until the capacity was restored.

Efficient Charging

Efficient Charging

Cars were able to be charged at 22kW of power without blowing fuses.

Easy Updates

Harnessing the Sun

Solar Panels

The deployment of solar panels has emerged as a beacon of hope for organisations seeking to reduce energy consumption costs, monitor live data, and leave a lasting impact on their local environment.

This case study takes a deep dive into the world of solar panel technology. We helped High Force Research Ltd. gain a head start along the road of significantly reducing their carbon footprint with the use of a 125kWp Solar PV Array on the roof. Their mission was threefold: to significantly reduce energy consumption costs, establish a live data monitoring system, and make a substantial contribution to curbing their carbon footprint within the community.

Powerful Innovation

Battery Storage

In an age defined by the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions, the field of battery storage emerges as a linchpin in the transition towards a greener future.

In this case study, we explore a remarkable project in the category of battery storage, with St. John's Chapel as the forward-thinking client. Their objectives were clear: maximize the storage of surplus electricity, future-proof the installation for potential wind turbine integration, and create a sustainable environment to power an electric AGA cooker using cleaner energy sources.

Enlightening the Future

LED Lighting

An LED Lighting Case Study for Bishop Auckland College.

With energy bills spiralling out of control, the college chose us to help them make the switch to LED lighting, which will cost a fraction to run compared to fluorescent fittings.
