Installing solar and/or battery systems at zero-rated VAT
Now for any domestic property, the cost of installing Solar and/or battery systems is zero-rated VAT. This can make a great positive impact on the return on investment for the customer, and more work for the installer moving forward.
Something to be mindful of:
If you are a customer who already has Solar and wants to upgrade with the addition of batteries, the VAT added would be back to the full 20%. If you are able to, the way to get around this would be to add a few more Solar panels, this would then bring it back to 0%, which in some cases could make it more cost effective.
