MyEnergi are at it again!

Libbi: the new hybrid Solar and Battery inverter unit

The truth is the inverter, BMS and batteries are just a white labelled version of CYTAL K-STAR’s BluE system that has been with us for a while now. But this is ok, many companies over the years have branded an existing system their own, it’s what MyEnergi have done to have the full system working in harmony. 

They have created their own controller that wires directly into the inverter and shares the same screen and similar functionality/layout as the Zappi and Eddi units.    

Personally, I like the ability to be able to charge your EV WITHOUT draining the battery in the Libbi.  It has always been a struggle, especially on DC coupled systems, to make this happen effectively and reliably. 

I can see why they opted for the K-Star units, the layout and construction of the units are great, with the floor mounted ‘stack’ approach, bolting it to the wall.  Makes for a much more aesthetically pleasing finish, without the need for using bulky cabinets or loosely standing batteries on the garage floor.  

The commissioning side of these are very straight forward too, can be done in less than 10 minutes after a couple of goes.   

Careful though; 

If you are the kind of person that wants to buy one of these units outright, and get your own electrician to install it for you, you will have NO valid warranty. This is because if your installer has not been through the MyEnergi Training Course at their HQ to become accredited, they cannot provide the warranty needed. Every registered installer will receive a unique login when registering the system online so it is a must. 

Another place where you would not have correct warranty is on a commercial installation.  Eg. If your business runs from a small unit in an industrial estate with Single Phase Electricity and want Solar and batteries installing, MyEnergi told us they would not honour a warranty at this time.  This is because the system has been designed and marketed for a domestic home environment. 

Overall, if you are in the market for a nice looking system, with an easy to use app and good levels of technical British support,  MyEnergi equipment should definitely be shortlisted as the brand to use.
